Would a career as a CNA be a good fit for you?

Where are you at this point in time?  Are you still undecided on which career path to follow?  It is good to know what your options are and to weigh them out.  Choosing to become a certified nurse assistant may be a no brainer for those who know themselves absolutely to be very compassionate to all people everyday.  Having the heart of a true nurse should be at the core of oneself  before putting on the theory and education of nursing.  I believe the demand for certified nurse assistants is growing in hospitals and medical clinics.  The baby boomer generation will surely fill in that demand along with an ever increasing non-citizen population in the United States of America.

Many people are turning to CNA jobs as a way to make sure they have employment opportunities for the foreseeable future. Certified nursing assistants provide much of the supportive medical interaction with patients at doctors’ offices, in urgent care centers and in hospitals. Generally, CNA training programs require only one or two years of education and can be completed through technical trade schools, community colleges and through some online programs.

Jobs Forecast

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for certified nursing assistants is expected to continue to grow in the coming decades. One of the fastest growing areas of employment currently, training programs for CNAs are growing at a rapid pace and recent graduates are often able to quickly find employment from a wide range of employers. In fact, it is not uncommon for larger medical groups and hospitals to work in conjunction with CNA training programs to ensure they are able to offer employment to the highest rated graduates of each class.

Getting a job as a CNA can be very rewarding and many people find that they want to continue their education beyond the minimal requirements for certification. If you work in a large medical group or hospital, you may find that your employer will offer you educational incentives to continue your education or tuition assistance for course work. Additional employment opportunities abound for people who go on to get their undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing, nursing administration and hospital administration.

Training Programs

You can find CNA training and certification programs at many community colleges in the United States. In fact, generally, CNA classes are filled up quickly and you may find you need to go on a waiting list to get the classes needed to complete your program.

You can also find CNA certification programs at many technical trade schools. These schools are often for-profit organizations and classes taken will not transfer to another educational program or institution. Technical trade schools often have agreements with local hospitals and larger medical groups to provide students with hands-on training opportunities as part of their training and certification program.

CNA programs are also available from online schools. The primary disadvantage of going through an online program is that it may be difficult to get the laboratory training needed to complete the program and meet licensing requirements. If you are considering going through this type of CNA training program, ask about laboratory courses and agreements with hospitals and medical groups regarding practical hands-on training experience.

Training to become a CNA can be a very wise choice for potential long term employment opportunities. CNA training requires only a one to two year program and you will be required to complete a state exam for licensing requirements. CNAs are anticipated to be in high demand for the next several decades.

Would having an alkaline diet combat disease?

I'm not an expert on this subject but would like for you to consider the possibility that maybe having an alkaline diet, drinking purified water with a PH greater than 7 and the use of Silver Sol technology may combat disease.  Most of us know that inside our bodies is organ specific mechanisms that help regulate a balance between an acidic and alkaline blood environment.  We have our lungs and kidneys that constantly compensate for any acid or base shift in the blood. Also the liver detoxifies metabolic waste and poisons.  Some doctors believe that because of these organs ability to detoxify and maintain blood pH means that there is no need for an alkaline diet.  Some scientific studies suggest that diseases such as the Flu, HIV and Cancer thrive in an acidic low oxygen environment. The suggested argument from some doctors and dietitians is that having an alkaline diet will help neutralize chronically acidic tissues, aid in detoxification, increase the effectiveness of antioxidants and promote increased oxygenation in the body to help combat disease.  I believe that the western diet can make the body very acidic.  So many foods are naturally acidic while others may be because of the processing or canning of the food.  The measure of acidity of a substance is known as pH. Pure water, which has pH of 7, is neutral. Substances with a pH less than 7 are considered acidic and substances with a pH of greater than 7 are considered basic. Cola drinks have a PH around 3 and coffee is at about a PH of 5.  The  PH of our blood should range from 7.0 to 7.5 so maybe we should consider the possibility that perhaps what we eat, drink and smoke may affect how hard those compensatory organs may have to work for balancing blood PH.  For a detailed list of foods that are alkaline please do an online search at:  http://rense.com/1.mpicons/acidalka.htm .  Eating more green vegetables, less red meat and avoiding Cola would be a good start.  Maybe the problem is not our food so much but maybe our intake of water, quality and PH of the water we may be drinking.  Some folks just do not drink water at all like they should while others drink nothing else but water.  I'd consider questioning the quality of water also that we drink whether it is from a municipal source or bottled water.  How much contamination is in our drinking water that may affect the PH?  I've found a remarkable product from a company called Seychelle.  They produce a portable water purification system that is unlike any product on the market.  They have many scientific studies done testing the effectiveness of their products in filtering 99.9% of organic, inorganic, radioactive and microbiological contaminants.  In a television interview on the Jim Bakker show the owner of Seychelle states that they've improved their products to increase water PH also.  These water filtration products have been in use all over many 3rd world nations brought in by missionaries to provide portable clean drinking water.  If you can regularly drink water at a PH above 7 then oxygenation of the body's tissues should increase thus making it a less hospitable environment for disease to develop.  Now why am I suggesting the use of Silver Sol technology also?  The use of silver as an antimicrobial has been the case until the discovery of antibiotics in the 20th century and was later abandoned.  But now the world has changed and many diseases or so called super-bugs had cultivated from the vast misuse of antibiotics.  Think about the smallpox vaccinations before 1973 and why did they ever stop vaccinating for that?  In this day and age we have seen the reemergence of old and the development of new diseases.  Microscopic nano-silver along with increased oxygenation of the body is one antimicrobial strategy. This product can be used in synergy with antibiotics only if you have a bacterial infection.  The Silver Sol technology patented by American Biotech Labs allows for a nano-sized silver particle for internal and external use against viral, fungal and bacterial infections.  In Vitro studies have shown that Silver Sol can kill HIV, SARS, e.coli, salmonella, anthrax, H1N1 and the bird flu.  So the suggestions to consider would be to shoot for an alkaline diet, obtain purified water with a PH greater than 7, and stock up on Silver Sol.

Health Insurance And You: Some Secrets You Will Want To Know

Some may believe health insurance is only for old or rich people. Attempting to thwart all sickness is not an alternative to health insurance, it's only an excuse to avoid it. Having health coverage is really a good thing to do, as the following paragraphs will illustrate.

Review your coverage to make sure you get the maximum from your coverage. Important things to know are what your provider options are, who bears responsibility for medical costs, what is or is not covered and what services are always out-of-pocket.

While searching for catastrophic health insurance coverage, you must take the time to gather as much information as possible. Be sure that this type of insurance will cover your needs regarding catastrophic events. Once you've figured it out, create an account to make deposits to where you save for your health.

It's important that you know what your state requires when it comes to acquiring a health insurance policy. For most states, this information is available online. You need to know the variations and exemptions are for the state you live in when you look for a health insurance plan.

Remember that each state regulates the private insurance companies under its own jurisdiction, so interstate commerce laws prevent private insurance from being sold to you in one state if you live in another. This means that going to an out-of-state hospital might not even be covered in your policy. All insurance companies are different in that regard, so be sure to call and check ahead of time.

Hopefully, the fact that you've read this article in it's entirety shows that you understand health insurance is mandatory if you wish to continue living in good health. Appropriate health insurance can literally be the difference between life and death, but sometimes you realize this fact too late. You will be glad you prepared yourself if something occurs. Although health insurance may cost a lot, it is much better than having regrets later on which can be more costly.

What is the End Sickness Now program about?

The mission of Steve Carney is to End Sickness Now!

In the U.S. and other western countries, common sickness like fatigue, allergies and colds, and chronic health problems/sickness are widespread! And most of those problems are driven by lifestyle choices.

People get allergies, colds and flu more often than they need to! Other, more chronic problems can fester for years without symptoms, such as excess weight/obesity high blood pressure (BP), prediabetes and diabetes, high cholesterol and triglycerides, atherosclerosis, and more! And many of these health problems and sickness are driven by the wrong choices in nutrition and activity.

About 66% of Americans are overweight or obese and about half of those are obese. Diabetes and other health problems are growing rapidly. When left untreated, these sicknesses will shorten you life significantly and can kill you suddenly (a heart attack can kill you in less than a minute)!

Why coaching is the solution:

Health and life coaching are the missing links for true health and life success! Having a well-trained Health and Life coach is the solution because a coach works with you once per week over a period of several weeks. He or she will support and encourage your forward progress and success. Coaching is not therapy.

As a coach, I look forward with you, not backward! I will help you focus on the future. I will guide you in making the forward progress you desire and in a few weeks, you’ll be on your way, improving and resolving your health and life challenges! How about fewer colds and flu. Maybe improved allergies? Other chronic health problems improved or resolved!

My Bio/History:

I’m certified through the Venice Nutrition/Fitness Program (August 2011) and for Life/Professional Coaching, through Fowler Wainwright International (March 2012). I was also certified as a Registered Corporate Coach (RCC) about 10 years ago!

I developed a passion for overcoming life challenges. I had Polio at age 3, and I learned what it’s like to be hospitalized and go through shots, surgeries, pain, etc. It was a great lesson in what happens when you lose your health and have to start over! I had to learn how to walk again! My outer left thigh now runs across my stomach! But I’ve overcome all those challenges, including getting rid of a limp I had until I was 35!

To maintain my ability to help you, I have dual certifications as a Certified Professional/Life Coach (CPC) and Certified Nutrition/Fitness/health Coach. My passion for health research goes back 20 years and I read health articles/research daily. I have  reviewed or read thousands of articles, books and clinical studies about health, disease, supplements and drugs. I also follow articles about jobs, careers and relationships.

I’ve overcome other life challenges, such as dyslexia, being chronically late, extra weight, allergies, blood sugar problems, knee problems/pain, a thyroid issue (I needed more iodine like the many people who have deficiency these days), etc.

I was also in a car accident a few years ago and had to heal neck and back problems/injuries (they wanted to fuse my neck vertebrae, but I said no. I’ve healed all of these health and life problems, using a natural approach with no drugs or surgeries. And I’m in better shape than I was 20 years ago!

Here is a recent video from CNN by the creator of the nutrition program I took (and simplified) in 2011: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/health/2012/01/06/gupta-new-year-new-you.cnn

A few of my health stats: BMI is under 21 (top 10% for my age), body fat around 15% (fitness level), waist 32″ or less. BP runs 115/70, with cholesterol, TSH and PSA all in good range. Fasting glucose runs in the 80s, and my hsCRP was less than .5, which is very low levels of inflammation (most adults over 50 are 1-3 or higher). I can do 70 push-ups, then 20 more after 60-second break, and 30 more after that! People say I look 15 years younger than my age. The bottom line is that this program works and it’s easier than you think!

Health Insurance Made Easy With These Easy Tips

There are a lot of different kinds of health insurance and it is different in many different ways. Learn and write down as much as you can to help you decide what's best for you. Do some research before making any choices. The tips below can help you find the correct heath insurance.

You should refrain from utilizing your credit card to cover your health insurance costs. There are quite a few insurance companies who will charge extra if you pay with your credit card. You may also be subjected to other fees as well.

When you are thinking about getting an individual health insurance policy, take time to work out all applicable costs. Do your calculations on how much you can pay for premiums, deductibles, and co-pays before you choose which insurance policy to buy.

If you are seeking health insurance coverage for all of your family, it makes sense to inquire about any applicable discounts. Premiums can be substantially lower when the policy is purchased for the family together, rather than each individual separately. Be sure to ask around before committing to any one insurance plan.

It can be difficult to get health insurance coverage if you are afflicted with a pre-existing condition. Vegetarian diets can reduce your risk of some of these conditions. Research has consistently shown that many years of improper diet accumulates into chronic conditions. These diseases are very expensive to treat. A vegetarian diet can reduce your chances of getting many chronic diseases. Insurance companies are increasingly aware of this fact. Not only can this diet save your life, but it can reduce health care costs.

There's many options you can choose when selecting health insurance. You need to do research if you want to find the prefect insurance company with the perfect policy that fits all of your needs. Remember the tips laid out here, to help you select the health insurance plan that works best for you.

What if I cannot get a hold of an operator when scheduling for Lab, MRI or CT scan?

I've had a couple of people that I know ask about the MRI and CAT scan discount program.  It should be easy to set up an appointment.

1.  Please have a pre-written doctors order for your MRI or CT scan at hand before calling the operator.

2.  Also have ready your FreeRxPlus discount card so that information can be given to the operator.

When you are ready then call 1-800-808-1213 found on the back of the FreeRxPlus card and an operator will be ready to set up your appointment for a Lab test, MRI or CT scan with discount already applied. The location of an imaging center is confidential and will only be given to the patient at time of scheduling the appointment.

Now what if you cannot get a hold of an operator when making that call?  There is an online option also that will put you on a call back list and may very well help speed up service.  This form will allow you to locate an imaging center, specify your doctors orders and schedule the exam.  Please click on the link below to request an appointment for a lab or imaging exam.

What is Alcotox?

Alcotox, created by inventor Amjid Yaseen from the U.K., is a patent pending dietary supplement composed of a speci!c blend of amino acids and vitamins. It is designed to target, scavenge and neutralize acetaldehyde, the toxin that is produced by the liver when alcohol is consumed. Acetaldehyde is 30 times more toxic than alcohol itself and almost all alcohol related diseases from cirrhosis, cancer and even hangovers can be traced back to acetaldehyde.

Alcohol consumption is the world’s third largest risk factor for disease and disability and is the leading risk factor for death in males ages 15-59. It is a causal factor in 60 types of diseases and injuries and a component cause in 200 others. Alcohol kills 2.5 million people every year, which represents 4% of all deaths worldwide.

Click here to read the W.H.O. definitive study on alcohol and its impact on human health.

However it is not alcohol itself which is the main causal factor, but its first metabolite Acetaldehyde, which is the real culprit behind almost all alcohol related biochemical harm. Acetaldehyde is not generally well known outside of academic circles about its significance to human health.

Alcotox does not affect the pharmacology of alcohol, only its toxicity, so it is still possible to become intoxicated. Alcotox products include Alcotox, Alcotox Liver Care, Alcotox Dual, Alcotox Oriental and Alcotox Liquid.

Alcotox will soon fund its own oral cancer study early next year in 2013.  Also there are many doctors and pharmacists who are already established customers of Alcotox in the United Kingdom. It is composed of vitamins and amino acids having efficacy that surpasses most allopathic drugs. N-Acetyl Cysteine which is one of  the active ingredients is classified both as a drug and as a dietary supplement. It is used in hospitals for acetaminophen overdose. NAC is also in Alcotox as it along with a patented formulation binds to Acetaldehyde very efficiently. Furthermore, Alcotox contains all three glutathione precursors, l-Cysteine, Glutamate and Glycine to promote synthesis of intracellular glutathione during alcohol consumption.

Make Buying Health Insurance Easy With These Great Tips

There are a large number of health insurance companies to choose from, and each of them offers a wide variety of policies. Doing your research and keeping notes will help you in your search. Study first before you decide. The tips below can help you find the correct heath insurance. Medical insurance can cut down on your taxes. One commonly-overlooked tax benefit is that your premiums are actually tax deductible. The cost of covering your deductible, co-pays and prescriptions are also tax deductions. State taxes are different from federal taxes, so make sure you check guidelines. Bear in mind that the costs for individual policies are usually higher than those of group insurance offered by employers. You might have to choose an insurance with a bigger deductible, or one that has a less coverage, or both. Make sure you consider all your options before purchasing insurance. An insurance broker can help ameliorate your feelings of being overwhelmed on your quest for the right health insurance. A broker can assist you in finding the right health insurance plan for you at a price that you can afford. They are also going to be aware of the regulations that are in place in your state. Before you select a broker for insurance, compare prices. Find out if you are going to be able to use your health insurance when you go see your usual doctors. If your doctors are not a part of the covered network, you will end up spending a lot of money out of your pocket. Although it may seem that the options for health insurance are overwhelming, you can find the one right for you. If you want to make a wise decision, you must be willing to put time and effort into the process. These tips will help you decide if your health insurance is what you need.

The Best Tips For Finding Great Health Insurance.

Health insurance can be a life saver right now and in the future! Before purchasing any health insurance coverage, make sure that you ask all of the important questions and do your end of the research it takes to make the right decisions. Continue reading to find some tips which will help you to save money, choose comprehensive coverage, and come out a winner in the end.

As you prepare to change to a new health insurance plan, you should carefully track all medical expenses related to maintaining your coverage. Do not forget to include the out-of-pocket expenses that you provide for your dependents as well as for yourself.

The local government and state insurance agency is the main regulator for private insurance companies. This is why certain insurance policies are not effective across state lines. The main consequence is that some coverages may be nonexistent or even reduced for care outside of the policy holder's home state. It is good practice to review your policy carefully to ascertain whether you are covered out of state.

If you are considering purchasing catastrophic health insurance, check up on the details of what is covered by this option. Make sure your policy covers the kind of events that are the most likely to happen. You will need to get an account for Health Savings and add funds to it in order to take care of your deductible in emergencies.

Some insurance companies could reject enrollment or a claim if information is missing or incorrect. By simply looking through your enrollment form after you are finished, you will ward off many of these issues.

Asking the right questions is key to finding the correct coverage for you, and the tips in this article should help by leading you in the right direction. The more research you do, the easier it will be to choose a company that meets your needs.

Click here to search for pills that can be split

High medication costs getting you down? Pill splitting may be just the answer you are looking for. This method may save consumers an average of 37% off their prescription costs. With some medications this savings may be as much as 56%. To see if this method is right for you, you will first need to do your homework. Begin by consulting the list provided, in our search engine or ask your doctor or pharmacist if your medication is available in a dose double your normal dosage (for example, if you normally take a 20 mg dose, is a 40 mg pill available). If it is, ask whether there would be any problems with splitting the tablets or capsules (read further for specific methods to be used). Certain medications require a finely tuned dosage or their pharmacology may be altered if their protective coating is damaged. Zyprexa (olanzapine) is one such medication. It must be used within seven days after being split. Another example is the pain medication Oxycontin. This medication is a time release formulation. Splitting the pill would cause you to receive several hours worth of medication all at once and could be dangerous. Finally, do a cost comparison between the two dosages. If the higher dose is anything less than double the cost for your regular dose then you will be saving money by having your doctor prescribe the higher dose and then splitting it. To split tablets you will need a pill splitter. Most pharmacies should stock these. You can also purchase them online at many locations. If your medication is in capsule form, you may be able to split it as well by emptying the contents of one capsule into a glass of juice. By drinking half and saving half for the following day you are effectively cutting the dose in half. Remember to refrigerate the mixture. This method may be appropriate for many psychotropic medications because small differences in dosage do not affect their effectiveness. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist for specifics about your own medication. This method is not appropriate in cases where patients have no social support, poor eyesight, diminished cognition, disorganized thinking, or impaired dexterity. Some pills that are commonly split include: Statins, like Crestor, Lipitor, and Pravachol Antidepressants, like Celexa, Paxil, and Zoloft ACE-Inhibitors, like Monopril, Prinivil, Univasc, and Zestril Angiotensin receptor blockers, like Avapro and Cozaar So what drugs shouldn't be split? Drugs with an enteric coating, designed to protect the stomach. Once split, the interior of the pill could irritate the stomach, leading to potentially serious problems. Drugs that are time-release or long-acting. Cutting the pill destroys the time-release effect, which means you could get too much of the medicine too quickly. Drugs taken more often than once a day. Drugs that work best with pill splitting are usually taken once a day. They last a while in the body. Why is this important? Even if you're careful when splitting pills, you won't always get it quite right. Sometimes one half will be a bit bigger than the other. But if the drug lasts a long time in the body, these variations won't matter. The amount of medicine in your body at any given time stays pretty level. That's not true with drugs that are taken several times a day, since the body processes them quickly. The amount of the medication in your system will fluctuate more dramatically: too little one day and too much the next. Most of our patients reported that pill splitting was 'no big deal' and they thought it was a great way for them to save money. We believe it is important to find ways to make medications more affordable.

Our program provides cardholders with a savings of up to 75% on all FDA approved prescription medications. At the time of purchase, cardholders simply present their card at a participating pharmacy to instantly receive substantial discounts on their prescription drugs. It's that easy.  Do not forget that this card also has a discount for laboratory tests and imaging service.

How much does the program cost?
The FreeRxPlus Prescription Savings Program is provided completely FREE to anyone who can benefit from the savings. If you cannot benefit from our program, please give our free card to someone who can. They will truly appreciate it.

This seems too good to be true, what’s the catch?
The FreeRxPlus program was created by a former Inc. 500 executive to assist those struggling with the high cost of prescription medications. There is no catch. We know that anything that sounds too good to be true usually is – our program is accepted at over 54,000 pharmacies throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. The network pharmacies have contracted with our program to provide a discount on prescriptions because they are gaining new customers.

How Does the FreeRxPlus Prescription Savings Card Work?
Simply present the card to the pharmacist at a participating pharmacy when dropping off your prescription and the pharmacist will run the RxGroup number, RxBIN number and your Member ID on the card to provide you the absolute lowest pricing. Don’t forget to check out our Tips for Maximizing Your Healthcare Dollars.

What kind of discounts will I receive with the card?
FreeRxPlus will provide discounts of up to 75%, and sometimes more, off the retail price of your prescriptions. The discounts vary and depend on the type of drug you are prescribed and the pharmacy you visit. Check out our Pharmacy Search to find the pharmacy in your area that has the lowest price. Should the retail price be lower than our discounted rate – the customer will always receive the lowest price!

Who can use FreeRxPlus?
Everyone with limited or no prescription drug coverage can benefit from FreeRxPlus. Instead of paying full retail price for medication, card holders can save up to 75%, while the average savings is 35%. Individuals who already have insurance coverage may still find the card useful, as it can provide discounts on medications that are not covered by their health plan or provide a lower cost than your health plan for many generics. Yes, and we recommend that you use our Pharmacy Search tool so that you can compare costs before visiting the pharmacy. You can price your medication at every pharmacy to find the best available price, you can also see how Pill Splitting can save on average 50% on your medication costs.

What if my pharmacist said the card would not save me any money?
As a FreeRxPlus Card cardholder, you are entitled to the absolute lowest price at the pharmacy. Your pharmacist will not know what the card savings will be until the prescription is sent to us for pricing via the pharmacist's computer. If your Pharmacist does not want to comply with the program, you should consider going to a pharmacy that honors the card. In 80% of previous transactions, the price will be significantly lower than any retail or sale price you would receive without the card. If a brand name or generic drug is available through your participating pharmacy at a lower price than the scheduled price, you will always pay the lower of the two prices.

William's testimonial of the FreeRxPlus card

Find out how much savings this man had from using the FreeRxPlus card.  This is what he said:

"Hey, there, look what I’ve got.  Yeah, I’ve got my pharmacy card and I just printed it off recently and I’ve been able to use it and everything.  I got it while I was surfing on the blog, Dennis Shepherd’s blog, and I put the URL right on the screen there so you can see that.

You know, this is a great card, it’s got, the benefits are that it’s a pharmacy discount card, a laboratory discount, and an imaging discount card.  And, you know, you need those things these days.

You know, let me give you an example of what I saved money on.  I use heart medicine, simvastatin, I can’t even pronounce it, and it’s a 40 milligram generic retail, the price on that is like $53.72 or something, and normally I would pay close to that, or that much, and I was able to pay at Wal-Mart, $15.79.  71% savings, $37.93 I saved out of my pocket using Free RX Plus.  Can’t beat that.

You know, if I would ever need a lipid profile with glucose blood test, not that I would use that every day, but if I did, you know, something like that would probably retail for about $77 or so, and they can get it for me with this, 35 bucks.  And my lab results would get faxed right to my doctor, I don’t have to worry about a thing.

Anyway, great card, I love it and thank you so much and I’ll see you soon.  Bye."
